SOUNDS OF OUR SUFFOCATION

Inspired by philosophers such as Gebser, Nietzsche, Hesse or Jung, in “Sounds of Our Suffocation” Anna Bresolí reflects on the fragility, submission and decay of the human being and his disconnection with nature in a post-industrial environment. Naked, vulnerable, paralyzed bodies amidst alleged progress that implies both advancement and estrangement. “
“Our relationship with the environment, the four walls we live in, we work in and exist in, represses us. A layer of pollution does not allow us to see the roof, the asphalt prevents us from feeling the heat of the earth. When we breathe deeply we feel a force that slowly squeezes our neck and suffocates us. We try to scream but no noise comes out of our mouths, no one hears us but everyone knows. Everyone knows what happens to us but nobody moves. There is no reaction. Only that pressure, which keeps on growing, more and more. Nothing to do. It is the sound of our suffocation. And we are doomed to listen to it eternally without being able to do anything to quell it. Anna Bresoli and her series ‘Sounds of our suffocation’ depict a world where the game is endless and winning is impossible.” Lamono Magazine
